2. day (3rd October): Field trip

Option A - Štiavnicá composite volcano led by Jaroslav Lexa

Option B - Metallogeny of the Štiavnicá volcanic area led by Peter Koděra

Due to limited availability, places will be filled in the order of registration.

After the field trips, both groups will make a short visit to Banská Štiavnicá, the historical UNESCO World Heritage silver mining town and join together for the gala diner. The bus will then return to Nagybörzsöny.


3. day (4th October): Oral presentations and poster session

Medovarce – 1st pre-caldera stage, Sebechleby Fm.: succession of shallow marine epiclastic volcanic conglomerates/sandstones and interbedded lahar deposits

Brhlovce – 4th post-caldera stage, Baďan Fm.: succession of shallow marine epiclastic volcanic sandstones, pumiceous sandstones and reworked pumice tuffs

Počúvadlo – 4th post-caldera stage, Drastvica Fm.: welded ignimbrite of bt-amph-px andesite

Šementlov – 2nd stage of subvolcanic intrusions, Zlatno intrusive complex: granodiorite porphyry stock/dike showing a porphyry system quartz-sericite-pyrite alteration

Kopanice – 2nd stage of subvolcanic intrusions, Banisko intrusive complex: coarse porphyritic bt-amph quatz-diorite porphyry sill

Hodruša – Mayer shaft – 2nd stage of subvolcanic intrusions, Hodruša-Štiavnica intrusive complex: top of the granodiorite bell-jar pluton

Banky – 1st pre-caldera stage, diorite subvolcanic intrusion

Banská Hodruša – ore heaps of the active Rozália mine, Au-Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu ore from epithermal veins
